Sadly for reasons best known to myself I have managed to delete all the photos I have taken today.
It has been a lovely day I walked with an American lady called Agnes and tomorrow, if I see her I will see if I can get her photos to put on the blog..All I have done is walk through a sea of vines again. The weather has been scorching.
Dog on a blog is safe though.
I cannot believe I have been so stupid.I also took my camera into town tonight and forgot to put the SD card in it!!!
I have only got 116 miles to go now and all the limbs and trotters are holding up.Tomorrow I will be only 4 miles short of a 100 to go.
Will update this blog tomorrow if I can get some photos
Well thanks to Agnes here goes.
I got up at 0530 and left Ponferarrada at 0600,I am only sorry that I did not have the opportunity to explore the town,I wanted to rest my ankle, which I mentioned earlier is back to normal now,I love a good drama to make a story
I teamed up with a chap who lived in Spain but was a fellow Brit ,he walked so fast that I could not take any photos ,which as it happens was a good thing as I lost any photos I took anyway,I stopped at Columbrianos for a break and my companion moved on which is just as well as I think he would have walked me into the ground.I bumped into Agnes who I had met four days ago ,we had all been so worried about her,as she could barely walk due to terrible blisters.
We walked together for the rest of the day .I am pleased to say her trotters have now healed,I could not believe the transformation.Today was going to be another day of vineyards. We stopped at Cacabelos for a well earned lemonade, yes I said lemonade!!!
Then it was vineyard after vineyard all the way to Villafrance del Bierzo.
We eventually arrived at Villafranca ,by the time we got there it was getting very hot indeed and we were both exhausted.
We checked in at our Paradore had a shower ,then it was time for lunch at the restaurant.Martin much to my surprise I had sea food pasta, followed by a two hour snooze which believe you me I had earned.
We arranged to meet at six and walked into town for a drink. We bumped in Mariet then walked into the square and there was Jason Martin Joe Grace Martha and Lindsay,it was like a family reunion I was so pleased to see them all again.

Maybe the brain has been shrivelled in all that sun! Glad your ankle and feet are still holding up. Can't believe you are nearly there well done again. Xx

Inspiring stuff, even if you can't take photos. What is an SD card? Keep going. Oli
ReplyDeleteWonderful, wonderful stuff! I usually read it every day but forced myself to leave it over the weekend so I had three days worth to read in one hit! Keep her going Peter.
