I woke up at 0520 ,apart from indigestion I had got away with it,I am not sure the same can be said for Jason, who is not a moderate man like me !!!!!!!!
We set off at 0600 from Hairyarse at the crack of dawn, the sun had not come up yet ,we only had 2 miles to go until we hit the 100 mile to go point and I was to put stone down in memory of my Mother .
We stopped at the 100 mile to go point ,which was by a little waterfall,I put Frank Sinatra who my mother loved on my iPod ,placed my stone in memory of Mum and my stepfather Charles, we had a minutes silence and I thought about them both and how lucky I was to have been raised by them and all they had done for me,you can imagine what happened next, there is something so moving about it.
We moved on and I was alone with my thoughts.Tomorrow I will be placing a stone in memory of my father, when we hit the 400 mile point.
We continued to climb we had started at 630 metres and we had to climb to 1330 metres a real hike.We stopped at La Faba for coffee and toast ,then we were climbing again, the views were stunning.
A bit of air guitar was called for.
The Pyrennees is walking at its best, the views are just the finest I have ever seen, the sun was rising and the light was magnificent.
It just got better and better.
And better and better and better.
And still better,I was in heaven.
Just when I thought the views could not any get any better,we reached the top and they did,it took my breath away.It had taken us 2hr 30 minutes to climb to the top ,I could not help but notice how much easier it had been this time to do battle with The Pyrenees than when we started 26 days ago,I do not think I have ever been fitter..
We sat there for about half an hour and just took it all in,if there is a finer view,I have not seen it.
Sadly it was time to move on to O Cedreiro,
We started the long descent to Fonfria by road sadly, all good things have to come to and end.
We arrived at Linaires and made ourselves lunch, well Jason did.
We passed through Hospital de la Condesca and Alto do Polo,it was hard walking on the roads and it was hot.
Time for two dogs on a blog .
On we plodded by now we were all getting very tired indeed.
We eventually arrived arrived at Fonfria after walking for 5 hrs 40 minutes we were absolutely exhausted the climb had taken its toll on all of us.
We have got our last long walk tomorrow which is 18 miles.
Stats for today
Walked 14.7 miles
Walking time 5.39
Average speed 2.6 mph
Distance to go 88 miles

Hi Peter sorry I am a bit late commenting on your blog but we have just come back from Arundel, thank you for arranging for us to go to the cricket the team really looked after us and we have a wonderful day. I laughed at your comment leaving hairy arse at the crack of dawn and talking of that you should of seem john yesterday at 7am running around the bedroom trying to catch a sparrow that had managed to fly in the bedroom window ! Not pretty! Wow those pictures are beautiful I would rather have been there than in our bedroom watching the sight I saw! Xx
